Maple Butter Tarts For Good
The annual “Maple Weekend” event at Windlee Farms marks the
official kick-off of our sales of CLHF “Butter Tarts for Good”. Anne
and Peter Lorriman of Windlee Farms Maple Syrup have made CLH
Foundation the official butter tart supplier for their special events at
the farm, and we are very delighted by their support! Adding to the
sense of celebration on the first weekend of April was our dynamite
volunteer team: CLHF Board members Lois Irvine, Dorothy Blanks,
Sarah Kitchen and Kevin Cascagnette, as well as Dean Johnson,
and Steve Irvine. Our official sponsors, the team from RBC Dominion
Securities/Bayles Deschamps Holloway Wealth Management also
volunteered their time! Thank you to Michelle Deschamps, Jeff
Holloway, Alli Jones, Christie Clark, Will Hitchon, and Alli Wachtler-
Ford.
Sensory Support Corner
CLH was one of many community recipients of noise cancelling headphones from the
ELCAN Employee Experience Team. These headphones assist those who struggle with
auditory sensitivities, and provide relief from overstimulation.
These headphones have been integrated into the Sensory Support Corner, which has
been made possible by Raytheon ELCAN. This corner is located in the main Teen/TAY
Hub, and is outfitted with seating, specialized sensory toys and activities, and noise
cancelling headphones. The Sensory Support Corner will allow participants to remain
connected to the Hub Community and stay engaged in social activities and skill-
building in a way that is comfortable and allows for success in an individualized manner.
CIBC Miracle Day Helps Bring The Tay/Teen Hub To Life
The TAY/Teen Camp Hub at King St has been graced with the lively addition of original artworks created by TAY participants
during a series of after-school workshops. Working with artist Samantha Daigle, they created art inspired by their interests,
experiences and ‘favourite things’. These brilliantly coloured works of art were officially celebrated during Teen Camp sign-
up night for teens and families at the Hub in May. These kinds of opportunities are made possible by the generous support
of Kelly Larmand and his team at CIBC Larmand Investment Group + CIBC Private Wealth. As he also did last year, through
his participation in Miracle Day, a national initiative by CIBC which supports local programs for children and youth, Kelly
has directed $6,000 to benefit CLH’s TAY/Teen Camp program. This generous donation directly supports a program which
provides community engagement, skill-building and social connection for young people. Thank you to Kelly and to CIBC
Wood Gundy for this ongoing support.
